Happy New Year!! I feel so grateful for all 2014 has offered and taught me! The Blonde Pantry didn’t even exist at the beginning of this year and I was working at a job that was slowly but surely chipping away at my love, motivation and drive for my chosen skill. That’s when I knew I had to make a change! I remember when I was a freshman in college I would stay up late and read blogs written by dietitians or bloggers who were training to be dietitians and I was obsessed! They were in my eyes, ‘living the dream’. Owning and creating their own little space on the internet and reaching 100’s, 1,000’s maybe even millions of people who were interested in living a healthy lifestyle- how cool would that be to help that many people by just writing one blog post?! I wanted to join the blogging world back then but didn’t feel like I had much to offer. My focus was to finish school and get the knowledge of nutrition, exercise and healthy living that I needed…. I needed facts and I just didn’t want to throw some un-credentialed ideas and more confusion on the internet- this type of blogging benefits NO ONE and I knew my blog was going to be about serving people who needed the facts and sound nutrition advice!! Now that I have graduated and have my RD/LD and practiced consulting in a hospital setting for the past two years I felt ready to add my own little space on the internet!! I can tell you that there is much more than goes on with a blog than just writing a couple of meaningful sentences and I work more hours now than I ever did with my 9-5 but this is the most fulfilled I have EVER been in my life! My thoughts consistently revolve around the Blonde Pantry and trying to figure out how to improve my content, make my site better, grow my following and serve my cliental. Luckily, I have chosen the right ‘mate’ in life because my husband is ‘all about the Blonde Pantry’ as well. He helps me bounce ideas off of him, helps me with my photography skills, reads books that apply to the business sides of things and most importantly gives me genuine and honest feedback for my ideas- his support has made all the difference. 2014 was definitely a year of growth in our household, I started my own consulting company/blog, Ryan is finishing up his 4th year of medical school and applying for residencies and we have just celebrated our first year being married – which comes with it’s own ups and downs but this year has truly been the best year of my life. I pray that 2015 is full of health, growth and celebrations as well!! If you have made it this far in reading my post I would like to say- Thank you times a million for reading this little blog of mine and for supporting my recipes, tips, advice and thoughts!! It genuinely means everything to me!!!! And always feel free to comment or email me if you would like to see more of a certain topic or post on my blog!!!
