Summer Flank Steak!

by Marla Murphy June 06, 2014

Summer is here and I am soooo ready for the long days spent at the pool and the delicious foods straight off the grill but eating a greasy hamburger and french fries poolside isn't a good look so I am leaning things up! This flank steak is full of flavor and is a fairly lean cut of meat (3oz has about 6 grams of fat). This steak is so perfect and juicy you won't need those two carb loaded buns to go with it. Pair this main dish with one of my favorite salads and some fruit for a perfect sized meal.

Flank Steak
Serves 5
Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 15 min
Ingredients
  1. 1 lb Flank steak
  2. 1 garlic clove, minced
  3. 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  4. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  5. Salt
  6. Pepper
  7. 1/2 cup red wine
  8. 1 tbsp olive oil
  9. 1 tbsp dried chopped onion
Instructions
  1. In a small mixing bowl, add all ingredients (except the steak) and mix well
  2. Add steak to a large deep baking dish
  3. Add the ingredients from the mixing bowl on top of steak, flip steak over a few times making sure it's well coated
  4. Place dish in refrigerator and marinade for about 2-3 hours
  5. Heat grill pan on medium-high heat. Add steak and grill on each side for about 5-10 minutes (depending on thickness) or until desired
  6. Remove steak and allow to cool for about 5 minutes
  7. Slice steak into thin strips or 3 oz serving sizes and enjoy!!

IMG_1522 Ingredients! You can marinate the steak for a couple of hours to enhance the flavor! I only let it set for 15 minutes and I still thought the flavor was great! On the grill it goes! IMG_1592 These steaks were so lean and so juicy!! IMG_1580 Who else love a good steak every now and then?!

Love,

Marla
